The Fair Work Commission continues to issue award variations flowing from the modern awards review. The latest batch of changes introduced include determinations for most awards clarifying how the casual loading interacts with overtime.
Since our last EMA Note on 19 October:
final determinations were published clarifying 97 awards in relation to overtime for casuals. The variations will take effect on 20 November 2020 (except in relation to the Aged Care Award, where the variation will take effect on 1 March 2021);
the next batch of ten fully-revised 2020 awards are scheduled to commence operation from 13 November 2020;
varied Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award and the Graphic Arts, Printing and Publishing Award have been completed and will commence operation on 11 December 2020; and
more awards were varied to extend the COVID flexibility schedules until 21 March 2021.
