Issue 10 2022 - Finalised determinations published for award minimum rate increases


The Fair Work Commission has now published its finalised determinations for award minimum rates. Employers should review their systems to ensure they are ready to pass on any required rate increase to their employees.

 

Determinations

We stated in our previous EMA note that we would update our clients once the Fair Work Commission has published its final determinations for the modern award minimum wage increases. The Commission has now published these and they can be viewed at its website here.


Employers should review these determinations and ensure that their systems are ready to increase rates when the changes take effect. Employers with enterprise agreements must also check that the minimum rates in their agreement(s) have not fallen below the minimum rates in the modern award.[1]


In addition to the increase in minimum wages, we remind our clients that employer contributions to superannuation will rise from 10% to 10.5% from 1 July 2022. Further information in relation to the superannuation increase can be found on the Australian Taxation Office’s website here.
